Unbelievable Transport Marvel: How 250-Tonne Giants Were Moved Across Continents

India’s Express Global Logistics (EXG) has stunned the transportation world with an intricate operation that defies traditional logistics. This audacious endeavor involved the movement of massive components as part of an innovative green hydrogen project in Saudi Arabia.

Epic Scale and Precision
The project saw the careful relocation of 14 immense modules, each weighing as much as 250 tonnes and stretching impressively to 50 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and 18 meters in height. Altogether, this equated to a mammoth 1,500 freight tonnes. EXG utilized advanced Scheuerle self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), deploying an impressive 48 axle lines accompanied by power pack units and custom-made spacers to ensure flawless transport.

Ingenious Strategies
Eight of these titanic structures were moved using a roll-on roll-off (RoRo) technique, maintaining balance and stability during vessel loading with the use of ramp plates and stools. For the remaining six modules, precision handling was employed, with SPMTs delivering them to a jetty where immense crawler cranes executed the lifting.

Strategic Collaborations and Future Innovations
In a strategic move in early 2023, EXG joined forces with Italian logistics leader Fagioli to form the joint venture Megaload. This collaboration has significantly broadened their capabilities, allowing for inventive and effective lifting solutions across sectors like petrochemical and construction.

EXG’s outstanding accomplishment not only highlights their commitment to precision and safety but also suggests exciting future advancements in industrial transport, paving the way for groundbreaking developments in the sector.
