In a striking demonstration of its logistical prowess, India’s Express Global Logistics (EXG) has accomplished the remarkable task of transporting immense structures vital to a new green hydrogen project in Saudi Arabia. This endeavor involved the meticulous relocation of 14 massive units, each reaching up to a staggering 250 tonnes in weight. These structures, with dimensions of 50 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and 18 meters in height, collectively totaled approximately 1,500 freight tonnes.
EXG adeptly leveraged their state-of-the-art Scheuerle self-propelled modular transporters from their specialized Megaload fleet. A total of 48 axle lines were deployed in conjunction with two power pack units and bespoke spacers, ensuring the modules were moved seamlessly. To facilitate the loading onto vessels, a roll-on roll-off method was selected for eight modules, achieved through the use of ramp plates and stools supported by precise ballasting.
For the remaining six modules, advanced handling was required, employing SPMTs to deliver them to a jetty. Here, crawler cranes executed the careful lifting necessary for their onward journey. This demanding project highlighted EXG’s strategic use of equipment and resourceful problem-solving skills.
In January 2023, EXG strengthened their capabilities through a strategic partnership with Italian logistics leader Fagioli, forming the joint venture Megaload. This collaboration has broadened their expertise across various sectors, underscoring a commitment to safety and innovation in heavy transport. As the field of industrial transport continues to evolve, EXG stands at the forefront of delivering unparalleled solutions.
